Ang Osocio ay nilikha para sa non-profit advertising at mga makabuluhang kampanya. Dito nagtutunggali ang aktibismo at konsepto ng marketing. Kilala ito dati bilang Houtlust Blog, ang pinaka-sentrong online hub kung saan nagkakaroon ng pagkakataong makibahagi ang mga advertisers, ad agencies, grassroots, social entrepreneurs, aktibista at mga mabubuting Samaritano na galing sa iba’t-ibang panig ng mundo.

Sa dinami-dami ng mga ad blogs sa web, nanatiling kakaiba ang Houtlust. Nasa pusod kasi nito ang social advertising. Di tulad ng mga commercial advertising na naglalayong kumita lamang, sa kabilang banda, pagkonekta naman sa tao ang pangunahing layunin ng social advertising. May kakayahan itong baguhin ang pag-iisip ng tao o grupo ng tao upang makalikha ng positibong pagbabago. At dahil dito, karapat-dapat na ito’y pag-aralan at ipahayag sa publiko.

Si Marc van Gurp ang nasa likod ng Houtlust. Sinimulan niya ito noong Oktubre 2005 bilang personal na koleksiyon ng non-profit ads. Ang orihinal na website ay gumagamit ng wikang Dutch pero hindi naglaon, nagkaroon na rin ito ng wikang Ingles. Lumaki nang lumaki ang blog na ito hanggang sa makilala bilang otoridad sa larangan ng non-profit advertising.

Noong tagsibol ng 2007, nagsimula ang diskusyon kung paano lalung pasisiglahin ang Houtlust. Mabilis na nagbigay ng boluntaryong serbisyo ang Onstuimig, isang interactive agency at Markey’s Banding, isang branding agency para sa paglulunsad ng makabagong website. Osocio ang resulta ng kooperasyong ito.

Higit pa sa isang blog ang Osocio. Ito ang pangunahing pinagkukunan ng mga pangangailangan sa mundo ng non-profit at social messaging. Isa itong plataporma para sa mga isyung lokal o pandaigdig, maliit o malaki man. Isa itong komunidad para sa mga social thinkers at marketing do-gooders.

Malaki rin ang kontribusyon ng mga taong tumulong kay Marc van Gurp na mga espesyalista sa iba’t-ibang larangan ng non-profit sector. Nagagalak kaming batiin ang mga eksperto ng Osocio team (pakitingnan sa kanang hanay).

May kani-kaniya tayong ideya kung paano gagawing mas maayos ang mundo. Pero sa panig ng Osocio, nangangako itong hindi kailanman magsusulong ng mga pulitikal na adyenda para sa sarili nitong kapakanan. Ang mga kampanyang aming inilalathala ay walang kinalaman sa aming personal na pagtingin sa isang isyu. Ang tanging binibigyang pansin naming ay ang komunikasyon ng mensaheng panlipunan.

Kami ay interesado sa mga bagong social campaigns, kaya kung me alam kayong mga bagong kampanya, balita, o links maari niyong ipadala ito sa amin.

Bagamat nababasa niyo ito sa iba’t-ibang lengwahe, and laman ng Osocio ay sa wikang Ingles.
