Osocio est un entièrement dédié à la publicité sociétale et aux campagnes de marketing social. C’est la place où le marketing et le civisme se rencontrent. Autrefois connu via le blog Houtlust, Osocio devient un point de rencontre pour les publicitaires, les agences de publicité, les activistes, les entreprises sociales et les bons samaritains de partout dans le monde. 

Bien qu’il existe des centaines de blogs publicitaires sur le web, Houtlust se distingue en se concentrant exclusivement sur la publicité sociétale. A la différence de la publicité à vocation commerciale dont le but est d’influencer les décisions d’achat, la publicité sociétale cherche à connecter les gens les uns les autres. La publicité sociétale a le pouvoir troublant de nous arrêter, de nous faire réfléchir et par la suite de nous amener à prendre des actions pour aider les autres, qu’ils soient issus de cultures étrangères à la notre ou encore qu’ils vivent à des milliers de kilomètres. C’est pour cette raison que nous célébrons ce type de publicité, que nous l’étudions et que nous en parlons. Nous souhaitons que vous en fassiez autant.
Crée par Marc van Gurp en octobre 2005, Houtlust débuta comme une collection personnelle de publicités sociétales. À l’origine ce site était écrit en néerlandais uniquement sans penser qu’une audience plus large puisse être possible. La demande pour une version anglaise fut si forte que le site fut rapidement offert en langue anglaise. Ce petit blog de niche devint de plus en plus grand. Ce ne fut pas long pour que Houtlust devienne une référence dans le domaine de la publicité sociétale et qu’il fasse autorité auprès des acteurs de l’industrie publicitaire tout comme auprès des personnes ayant à cœur le sociétal à travers le monde entier.
Au printemps 2007, les discussions démarrèrent sur comment amener Houtlust un niveau au dessus. L’agence interactive Onstuimig et l’agence Alef de Jong Branding se sont rapidement portées volontaires pour aider au développement d’une nouvelle identité de marque et lancer un nouveau site. Le résultat de cette coopération est le site sur lequel vous êtes actuellement : Osocio.
Osocio est plus qu’un simple blog. C’est votre ressource pour tout ce qui touche au monde de la publicité sociétale. C’est une plateforme globale et locale pour les questions en lien avec le marketing social. C’est une communauté de penseurs sociaux et de marketeurs bien intentionnés.
Alors qu’ Houtlust était entretenu par une seule personne (Marc van Gurp), Osocio compte plusieurs contributeurs, chacun d’entres eux sont spécialistes dans des domaines spécifiques du large secteur des organisations sans but lucratif. Nous sommes heureux d’accueillir ces experts dans l’équipe d’Osocio.(voir plus bas).
Bien sur, nous avons nos propres idées sur comment faire du monde un endroit meilleur. Toutefois, Osocio vous promet de ne jamais faire la promotion d’aucun agenda politique. Les campagnes sont publiées de manière objective sans influence de notre part. Notre priorité est seulement de communiquer des messages à valeur sociale.

Liz Losh
