The Design Ignites Change Social Impact Workshop focuses on how to conceive, develop, fund and execute projects for social change. It will be led by Mark Randall, founder of Worldstudio and Shana Dressler, founder of Social Innovators Collective in collaboration with Domaine de Boisbuchet.
Many design, communication and architecture professionals have turned their efforts towards non-client based work that has the potential for positive social impact. The creative professions have traditionally been a service industry where a client drives the inception and development of a project. However, in this week-long workshop individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to break from this traditional mold to catalyze their own powerful initiatives for social change will learn how to transfer their skills from working in service of their clients to working as entrepreneurs.
The program will also lay down the groundwork for those who are ready for a larger commitment on how to found a social enterprise. At the end of the workshop each participant will leave with a solid understanding of the steps and resources necessary to implement projects and build businesses in a sustainable way.
The workshop has been designed for creative professionals and social entrepreneurs as well as advanced college students who are over 21 and have completed their junior year at college or university.
