Hello all. What just happened in my country (the UK)? You may be asking this right now. Believe me, we’re still asking ourselves. One fallout of our recent referendum has been a reported increase in xenophobic behaviour – racist graffiti, name calling, public rudeness to people who are perceived to be immigrants. And on social media a simple solution has sprung up – wear a safety pin. Let someone who feels threatened – someone who suddenly feels unwanted, uncertain, an outsider – know that they’re safe with you.
