A whole new kind of cyber-bullying
Posted by Tom Megginson | 18-10-2010 17:29 | Category: ViolenceAdFreak shared this very weird anti-bullying application. You upload a picture of yourself, and then get to watch as you’re bullied, attacked and robbed on the streets of London:
Yeah, that’s me… sort of. I think I screwed up the targets, which ended up making me look like a bit of a Muppet.
It’s strange to see yourself in this mini-film, but does it really help you to know how it feels to get bullied? I don’t think so. But at least it gets us talking.
[More after break]
And then, of course, there is the Law of Unintended Consequences.
As AdFreak’s David Gianatasio writes, “The problem, of course, is that you can just as easily upload photos of friends, enemies and bosses. (The “Report abuse” section is prominent for a reason.) I think it works better that way. Take that, Fred from accounting! Hit him again! Oh man, this would be perfect if I could upload my face onto one of the perps.”
Sadly, this thing is just asking to be trolled…
