This is some of our own work at Acart Communications, so I’ll forgo any critique and just share some words about the cause:

Wild chimpanzees are critically endangered.

At the turn of the century, 2 million chimpanzees lived in the forests of 25 African nations. Today, only 5 nations (Republic Democratic of Congo, Gabon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, and potentially Cameroon) have significant populations of wild chimpanzees, and their numbers have dwindled to between 150,000 and 300,000.

In the absence of swift action, our closest animal relatives could become extinct within 15 years.

 

We’re working pro bono with the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada to help focus their fundraising and cause marketing messages in Dr. Jane Goodall‘s 80th year.

In 1960, a 21-year-old Jane Goodall arrived at the Tanzanian shores of Lake Tanganyika to study chimpanzees in the wild. Her groundbreaking research uncovered many human-like behaviours in our closest living relatives — such as tool use, hunting other animals for meat, dancing, waging war, teaching, forming emotional attachments, culture and even natural medicine — that are today considered critical for understanding human nature. While captive chimpanzees will likely survive their wild kin, their contact with humans puts them in an unnatural context in which these observations could not be made.

True to Dr. Jane’s focus on kinship, today’s Jane Goodall Institute works to help chimpanzees by supporting sustainable human communities in the regions where they live, as well as promoting wildlife research, conservation and education worldwide. African members work in countries such as Tanzania, DRC and Uganda to develop sustainable agriculture and forestry, increase access to capital through micro-credit, and teach their peers about the interconnectedness of people, animals and the environment.
