Breast Cancer Foundation of Singapore: Are you obsessed with the right things?

Three clever ads with real body painting. The Breast Cancer Foundation of Singapore wants women to become obsessed with the one which is mostly forgotten: breast examination.

“Are you obsessed with the right things? The difference between a pimple (big butt/bad hair day) and breast cancer is that of life and death. Regular breast checks are the best way to fight cancer. Show support for the women in your life by purchasing a Pink Ribbon.”

The “spot” one is really gross.

“Clever”? I think it’s just sexist. I wonder how many people would think it’s clever if these ads were addressing prostate cancer and featured painted dicks.

As a Stage 4 breast cancer survivor and someone who is now having to decide about mastectomy. I LOVE this art work!  Clever way to get the point about breast screening

For God’s sake this is not sexist. It makes a good honest point. I think painting the inside of someone’s rectum is a little different, and wouldn’t be as affective bachman.

Is this eating disorder ad too sexy?

It’s a serious question. This woman has the typical idealized body of a model, and despite the scary body painting, the portrayal is undeniably drawing attention to her curves and bare skin. When I think about eating disorders, I try to imagine looking in the mirror and seeing a funhouse…
