“Boyfriend Went Vegan And Knocked the Bottom Out Of Me”

“Boyfriend Went Vegan And Knocked the Bottom Out Of Me”

I’m not quite sure what to think of this new PETA campaign for veganism. They’ve been promoting the “vegetarians make better lovers” thing for some time now, but in this version they use comedy (voiced by comedian Kevin Nealon) rather than sensuality to get the point across.

But is the idea of being intimately injured by an overenthusiastic lover really that appealing?

“All over the world, regular guys are choosing a vegan diet, unaware of the erotic consequences. As a result, an epidemic is spreading among their “loved” ones: BWVAKTBOOM, “Boyfriend Went Vegan and Knocked the Bottom out of Me.”

For years, women have been open to the physical, emotional, and karmic benefits of veganism. But now, more and more men are discovering the perks of a plant-based diet. More specifically, a dramatic increase in their wang power and sexual stamina.

Unfortunately, the consequences of all this mind-blowing intercourse can often lead to sex injuries such as whiplash, pulled muscles, rug burn, and even a dislocated hip.”

They even have testimonials.

It will certainly get attention, anyway, even if it does straddle some rather uncomfortable lines between sex and violence, comedy and deception.

Strange campaign. Is ‘knocked the bottom out of me’ a clunky translation from another language?  I’ve never heard that phrase in English. In fact my first impression was that it was about someone’s vegan boyfriend’s cooking giving them diarrhea :p

I’ll help you know what to think: it sucks. Anyone this ad converts to the cause is probably a good candidate for a criminal record.  Treating the copy this like an Axe commercial MIGHT have earned laugh. Instead, it feels like a PSA for abusing women. Wow, sexy. Sign me up. PETA fails should be their own meme.

And here I was, wondering if I was going to be accused of being over-sensitive. (“Get the sand out of your vagina” is the usual wording.)

But I guess my gut was right. It is disturbing.

Violence against animals is no laughing matter. Violence against women, on the other hand,

Great job, PETA. Really upping your game here.

PETA would be dumb enough to advocate sexual battery.

wow… this is awful. Confusing, weird phrase for sex I’ve never heard before, domestic violence-chic, etc…

There are many reasons why the number of vegans has doubled in the US in less than 3 years. Maybe sex is one of them 🙂 Here are two uplifting videos to help everyone understand why so many people are making this life affirming choice: and

This is ad is total rubbish and sexist. Kludged togehter by only a male team, no wonder. I guess they fancied this idea over a couple of beers feeling all manly and stuff…

Actually a study I read showed that vegans are actually, on average, worse at sex. So they’re just using the whole ‘sex sells’ thing.
