Create a whale tail for the IFAW

Posted by Marc | 10-08-2008 21:50 | Category: Animal rights

IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) has launched a new campaign with the name project 551. With this campaign the IFAW wants to mobilise the Australian public in lobbying Japan to stop harvesting whales. The name is based on the fact that, last season the Government of Japan killed 551 whales in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.

Project 551 wants the people of Australia to support by making a photo imaging a whale tail. By adding your photo to the project you will not only be showing your support for whales, you will also be helping the IFAW to create posters, TV commercials and a Big Book with which to petition the Australian Government to do everything they can to stop the Government of Japan killing more.

To date the IFAW have worked with a dozen photographers and over 25 well known Australians. All submitted photo’s are also available at Flickr.
