Donate a word for Unicef

Posted by Marc van Gurp | 9-06-2011 22:15 | Category: Poverty, Developing World

A great idea from Lisa Zeitlhuber and Katharina Schmitt of the Miami Ad School where you can donate ‘misspelled’ words to the UNICEF education program.

Using the spell-check-window of Google Chrome as a medium, the project reminds people of children in need of education whenever they misspell a word.

Every time you misspelled a word, the contextual menu will remind you of children who don’t know how to read and write. You can donate that misspelled word to the UNICEF program and thus contribute to the good cause. The donation is dependent on the number of characters in that word.
It is just a concept at the moment.

I don’t think I will use it when it gets real, it will cost me a fortune :-)
