I’m fine to drive

These confrontating adhesives where placed on walls and floors in public bathrooms at local bars. The South African road safety organisation Arrive Alive visualize people’s behaviour after drinking too much.

"Just need to get out of my sytem”, “I’ve driven home like this hundreds of times”, “I’ll sober up when I’m behind the wheel”, “I’m cool to drive, I live just up the road”. Cliche’s like this are heard many times after a being a night at a bar.

This ambient campaign reminds me at this almost similar campaign from Portugal 2 years ago.

Comments about I’m fine to drive

To whom it may concern,

Dear Sir /Madam

We have been looking at the service offered by various companies in the UK offering drivers to people who are under the influence of alcohol and over the legal limit. These services usually work on the customer calling the set companies at which point the company will send a driver on a 50 cc motor bike, to meet the customer, placing the bikes in the customers car and then drive the customer safely to their destination.

We would like your opinion on these services put in place to prevent drink driving and whether your campaign supports them as an alternative to driving under the influence of alcohol?

Regards,

I recently had the privilege of being invited to speak and participate in the 2012 Design Ethos Conference/Do-ference at Savannah College of Art and Design. The creator of the conference, Scott Boylston, is a longtime friend in the relatively small socially conscious design community and I was delighted that…
