Imagine 9/11

Imagine 9/11

greenpeace-nuclear-power

Always dangerous to compare situations with the 9/11 New York twin towers. But imagine what will happen when a plane attacks a nuclear power plant. That’s what this campaign from Greenpeace Romania is about. The ad is part of the anti-nuclear campaign in Romania against the Cernavodă nuclear power plant and it refers to the dangers of nuclear energy, one of them being the risk of terrorist attacks.
The Cernavodă nuclear power plant have a long history of financing, building and safety problems.
More details can be read at the website of Nuclear Spin, and is told in this Cbc.ca video from 1990.
Last October Greenpeace Romania presented a study in which they warns Cernavodă inhabitants of tritium dangers from the nuclear power plant. With the results of the study Greenpeace demands the Romanian Government to look at sustainable alternatives to nuclear power.

The 9/11 idea is used before. See this ad from the France environmental organisation Fondation Nicolas Hulot: For nature everyday is 9/11.
