Is God an All Blacks fan?
Posted by Tom Megginson | 27-09-2011 18:15 | Category: SportSt. Matthews is a “progressive Anglican church with a heart for the city & an eye to the world” that is known in Auckland for its cheeky and irreverent ads. This one parodies the Shroud of Turin while reminding New Zealanders of all the favours they asked of God before winning the World Rugby Cup in its inaugural year, 1987. The 2011 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Auckland next month.
It is unknown whether God is planning to cheer for New Zealand this year, or if He can be appeased through Haka.
