The 2018 World Cup will be held in Israel & Palestine!

Or so we wish to believe…

By campaigning for co-hosting the 2018 World Cup in Palestine and Israel OneVoice takes an interesting approach to support the peace negotiations.

The above video is part of a playful campaign website.

OneVoice is an international grassroots movement promoting the voices of moderates in Israel and Palestine. Since their inception, they have been aiming at reframing the conflict, transcending the “left vs. right” and “Israeli vs. Palestinian” paradigms.

“We share the same grass (or sand) and we envision a future where we can meet, compete and celebrate on a football pitch rather than on a battlefield.”

In order to make the grass greener, they seek to motivate and back up the ‘moderate’ silent supporters who can hopefully join forces and tone down the minor but loud voices of the ‘hooligans’.

On the campaign website visitors are able to register their support to the cause. There’s also a map of Israel and Palestine showing possible locations for stadiums. And a ”wishful news” page where you’ll learn Israel and Palestine will change their
national anthems by 2018 and adopt Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’ instead. Enough to keep your attention for at least a little while.

Great move to take on this everlasting conflict with a little bit of humor. Now stop fighting and start training!
