What you see in this TV spot also happens often with physical changes. It’s easy to ignore these things, especially when we’re busy.
It is the warning and key message in the new campaign from Cancer Research UK. It is about the importance of early diagnosis for spotting the cancer sooner. The campaign launch last week follows on from a successful pilot the charity ran in the North of England in March 2015, and runs throughout November.
Research shows that there are big differences in the UK in early research.
Sara Hiom, director of early diagnosis at Cancer Research UK:
Wherever you live, an early diagnosis of cancer will give you more treatment options and a better chance of survival. So it’s unacceptable to see such variation across England, with some areas falling far behind others in prompt diagnosis of different cancers. The available data indicate widespread problems, with far too many patients being diagnosed later than they should be.
The campaign will run across television, cinema, outdoor posters, digital adverts, and will be supported by a national and regional press, PR and social media campaign.
Note the subtile use of the ‘we’re busy’ in the tagline instead of ‘you’re busy’.
The television advert was created by AMV BBDO for the pilot, with all the new digital and outdoor advertising assets being created by Karmarama. Cancer Research UK’s in-house press, PR and social teams will activate the supporting media channels.
