Jason Biggs' @PETA ad is actually pretty funny

Regular readers know that I tend to be pretty critical of PETA ads. Not because I don’t support animal welfare. (I do, as much as an omnivore can.) My issues are mostly with sexual exploitation in their ads, as well as misinformation and plain old poor taste.

But occasionally, they sign up a genuinely likeable celebrity for a cause people who are less extremist can support.

This is one of those times:

American actor Jason Biggs (American Pie, Orange Is The New Black) really sticks it to SeaWorld by satirically “flubbing” his advertising shoot for them with criticisms that will be familiar to anyone who has seen Blackfish. He ends by getting naked for a PETA shoot instead, which to me is a nice self-deprecating send-up of the usual sexualized ads.

More like this please, PETA. You need more supporters with a sense of humour.
