If John F. Kennedy was still alive, could this be his message? We will never know.

This video is the launch of the new Energy [R]evolution campaign from Greenpeace worldwide. It outlines a global plan for a sustainable renewable economic future. It shows us how we can get from where we are now, to where we need to be to avoid a climate change disaster.
It was developed with specialists from the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and more than 30 scientists and engineers from universities, institutes and the renewable energy industry around the world.

The report: ’Energy [R]evolution: A Sustainable World Energy Outlook‘, produced by the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and Greenpeace International, provides a practical blueprint for rapidly cutting energy-related CO2 emissions in order to help ensure that greenhouse gas emissions peak and then fall by 2015. This can be achieved while ensuring economies in China, India and other developing nations have access to the energy that they need in order to develop.

“Unlike other energy scenarios that promote energy futures at the cost of the climate, our energy revolution scenario shows how to save money and maintain global economic development without fuelling catastrophic climate change. All we need to kick start this plan is bold energy policy from world leaders,” said Sven Teske, Greenpeace International’s Senior Energy Expert and co-author of the report.

This is precisely what we lack in this country - politicians with the vision, passion and leadership to move us in the right direction.  Hopefully our next president will embody the message above and challenge us to greatness.
