Niqabitch shakes Paris

Niqab, bare legs and mini-shorts as a critique of France’s recently passed law. That is done by two anonymous French students (political science and communication) under the name Niqabitch.
They said the film was a tongue-in-cheek way of criticising France’s niqab ban, which the Senate passed last month and is due to go into force early next year. In the film the visit government ministries in Paris.

Niqabitch: “To put a simple burka on would have been too simple. So we asked ourselves: ‘how would the authorities react when faced with women wearing a burka and mini-shorts?,”
“We were not looking to attack or degrade the image of Muslim fundamentalists but rather to question politicians who voted for this law that we consider clearly unconstitutional,” they said.

The Muslim minority in France is with five million the largest in Europe but only fewer than 2,000 women actually wear a Niqab.

I don’t understand what is the point to go round every official places to “dedramatize” niqab subject and stress the fact that “niqab law” is unproductive. I mean, I like the action as an happening and a subject of reflexion in a larger sense, but I don’t understand where is the political message sent to French government?
