Save the Children: Parallel lives

One of the things I talk about a lot is the power of ‘parallel lives’ – shortening the distance between the lives of others, and our own. That’s particularly relevant for the children of Syria – children who’ve grown up with the same TV programmes, toys and secure, happy lives as those in the west, but who are now suffering the unimaginable consequences of three years of violence.

This new film from Save the Children in the UK uses the ‘second a day’ technique to show the effect of an equivalent conflict on a child in the UK. It’s powerful stuff (although the end line is the same as the well-known Amnesty campaign, which is a shame).
