And by “celebrates,” of course, I mean “dresses up like animals and distributes anti-meat literature.”
According to their press release, PETA volunteers crashed Hormel’s SPAM® birthday party at the corporate hometown of Austin, Minnesota, to hand out vegetarian/vegan starter kits, Paul McCartney’s “Glass Walls,” and PETA’s “Think Before You Eat” leaflets.
PETA accuses SPAM manufacturer Hormel’s pork suppliers of “beating, kicking, and sexual abuse of pigs” — and they have a disturbing video to back it up.
They are also selling commemorative T-shirts.
Watch mainstream news coverage of the event after the break.
