New Scottish laws aimed at curbing the awful phenomenon of “revenge porn” could result in significant prison time for partners or ex-partners sharing intimate images without consent, according to the BBC.

To raise awareness of the issue, Safer Scotland has produced a series of PSA posters showing a nude man and woman with their genitals and/or breasts covered with “crime scene” police tape.

I’m not sure that a smiling, sexualized image is the best way to get people to take revenge porn more seriously, but it will draw eyeballs. Then the message about spending 5 years in prison should certainly get viewers’ full attention.

According to Scotland’s Justice Secretary Michael Matheson, the campaign was developed with input from domestic abuse advocacy services including Scottish Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis Scotland, and ASSIST.
