A new campaign from the Dutch organisation Humana. Humana is a development aid organisation focussing on education, health and economic help.
Our second hand cloths are valuable and Humana collect it for years. Proceeds of the collected clothes give shape to clean water, education, medical health and agriculture implements.
This feelgood campaign is made by Lowe/Draftfcb.

“Laat je 2e handskleding de 3e wereld helpen.”
“Let your second hand cloths help the third world.”

But is donating clothes really the best thing? Apparently it often destroys the little local economy there is ... who would produce clothes if you simply get them for free? Same with a lot of other well-meant help. Why grow anything when you get it for free from the aid agencies?

This organization helps in a way that the local economy is not harmed. With projects like giving local businesses or people mini-credits they improve the local economy in a sustainable way. Without making them depended upon outside help.

Love your blog and read it often to follow the best good doers of the world and their communication strategies. Unfortunately this Humana corporation is also a global ponzi sceme, which leaders are still under trial for massive tax evasion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tvind

I guess our lession is that even cheating aid organizations can do great viral adds. Luckylly the web makes it a little easier to document their acitivities :-)

Hello,

I’ve been trying to find the title of the song… but can’t seem to find it. It’s such a ‘feel good’ track. Can anyone help me out?
