Vimochan Development Society: Help her and remove that rope

Each day, some twenty Indian women are tortured, stabbed, hung or burned. That’s over 7000 dowry deaths per year.
That was the message the Vimochan Development Society wants to communicate.

The creative, made by Bhadra Communications Bangalore (India) is hung in public places, where it will not be overlooked. When the noose is removed from the girl’s neck, the full message is revealed, along with an exhortation to speak out against the evils of the dowry system. Besides car door handles, bike handlebars & tea-bag tags, it can be used in public transportation and other ambient settings like parks (on bushes in a larger format), as a bookmark in libraries.

Comments about Vimochan Development Society: Help her and remove that rope

Vimochana gets funds to spread lies about India. These so called 7000 dowry deaths include, any accidents categorised as dowry deaths and false dowry death cases (when woman is alive and living with paramour).

The genuine deaths due to dowry and domestic violence in India is 1830 per year. That is the amount of convictions that take place even though it is very easy to convict the accused in dowry death cases. If US had the same population as India, then 3600 women would have been getting murdered in US by husband or relatives. So, women in US are 2 times more in danger than in India.

To get funds, Indian feminists spread lies. There are some other bunch of feminists who even claim 25,000 women are killed for dowry. Where as the truth is only 1830 in 2006.

In India, 55000 husbands commit suicide every year compared to 28000 wives. The reason for suicides are “family reason+health reason” for both genders (44%).

@Sumanth That sounds terrible. Do you know any sources about it?

Human trafficking – it is the new slave trade, an action many of us thought be extinct after the US Civil War. But it is worse than ever, not least because many of the victims hand themselves over to get out of economic and political peril. They want to…

The creator of the conference, Scott Boylston, is a longtime friend in the relatively small socially conscious design community and I was delighted that…
