The image is above is the start screen of a amazing webproject based on the film Waterlife. Waterlife, the film, follows the epic cascade of the Great Lakes from Lake Superior to the Atlantic Ocean, telling the story of the last huge supply of fresh water on Earth. It is the story of the last great supply of fresh drinking water on Earth – the Great Lakes [Wikipedia].

To compliment the film, Interactive studio Jam3 created the site http://waterlife.nfb.ca. They have taken all the major content and themes from the documentary and by utilizing Flash, Papervision and a truly amazing soundtrack they have created an online experience which tells the story of the extreme state of distress that the Great Lakes are in.

The film is narrated by Gord Downie, lead vocalist of The Tragically Hip. The film also features music by Sam Roberts, Sufjan Stevens, Sigur Rós, Robbie Robertson and Brian Eno. Waterlife won the Special Jury Prize - Canadian Feature at the 2009 Hot Docs.
