Where is my vote?
Posted by Tom Megginson | 12-08-2010 20:53 | Category: Human rightsNYC’s School of Visual Arts (SVA) is showing an exhibition of over 125 political posters by graphic artists world wide created in support of the protests in Iran that followed the 2009 presidential election.
Featuring artists like Ralph Steadman (best known as illustrator—and occasional victim— of Hunter S. Thompson’s Gonza adventures) and “Lowbrow” artist Gary Taxali, the exhibition is the first public viewing of these posters in printed form and was organized by designers Anita Kunz and Woody Pirtle along with Francis Di Tommaso, director of the Visual Arts Gallery, and Steven Heller, author, design historian and co-chair of the MFA Design Department at SVA.
The exhibit, “Where Is My Vote? Posters for the Green Movement in Iran” is showing from August 30 – September 25 at The School of Visual Arts Gallery in New York City. But if you can’t make it in person, you can see many of the posters here.
