This organ donor ad is weird — and kind of beautiful

How could two people be any physically closer than making love? How about having an organ transplanted between them?

It’s a weird way to promote organ donation, and could perhaps turn off some potential donors by sexualizing their deeply selfless act. But if the best an issue awareness ad can do is to provoke discussion, then this beautifully art directed example from Brazil has accomplished its goal.

Is this eating disorder ad too sexy?

It’s a serious question. This woman has the typical idealized body of a model, and despite the scary body painting, the portrayal is undeniably drawing attention to her curves and bare skin.

PETA, please don’t do “don’t be that guy”

PETA, please don't do don't be that guy

The campaign is actually about how you look like “a horse’s ass” when you spout clichéd arguments against not eating meat.

Peta: a horse's ass

So why call it “don’t be that guy”? Especially when that (admittedly common) phrase is currently “owned” by a very powerful anti-rape campaign?

PETA PSA compares irresponsible “pet parents” to real ones

Posted by Tom Megginson | 28-01-2014 17:24 | Category: Animal rights

Update: PSA is from 2008. It was just recently recirculated.

PETA PSA compares irresponsible pet parents to real ones

The device of absurd comparison is not exactly groundbreaking, but at least this PETA PSA features some good writing and funny acting:
