Barbie You’re Dumped!

Barbie You’re Dumped!

Just launched, the new campaign from Greenpeace. It is against Mattel, the creator of Ken and Barbie.

Barbie has a nasty deforestation habit – she is trashing rainforests in Indonesia, including areas that are home to some of the last tiger, orang-utans and elephants, just so she can wrap herself in pretty packaging.

Mattel, the manufacturer of Barbie is using paper packaging from Indonesia’s most notorious rainforest destroyer Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) according to Greenpeace:

More after the break.

The Greenpeace action is also a based on the Mattel campaign which started last Valentines Day. The day that Ken and Barbie reunited.

Update:
Greenpeace also did a banner action today at the Mattell headquarters in Los Angeles.
