It may be due to my interest, but it can also be the resurrection of poetry. I find it striking how much poetry with social commitment I meet lately, and I love it!
This video from director Jake Dypka made it to the Vimeo Staff Pick Collection what can be seen as an award. He made the video with British poet and spoken word artist, Hollie McNish. It’s an rousing rant about the daily battle mothers face when nursing in public. The shame of over exposure of breasts in the media versus the outraged reaction women face if they openly breastfeed.
This poem is taken from Hollie’s book Nobody Told Me: a journey from pregnancy to pre-school in poetry and prose.
