It is what the UNHCR showed us with a campaign video from Manhattan. But also very different, and more shocking. The latest campaign from Save The Children comes with a confrontation question: What if the UK were under siege?

With the use of actors the charity recreate real-life situations in an attempt to imitate life in Syria. Hidden cameras capture the genuine reactions of the public when access to food, school and even medical care are seemingly cut off. With the mother and child scene at 1:50 just right on the borderline of what is acceptable for an experiment. Save the Children realised that too and tells us that nobody was harmed during the making of the film.

The campaign is made in the well known technique of bringing in situations from far away. With the logical pay-off:

Just because it isn’t happening here, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Of course it is a fundraising thing.
