One in Five and the Fear of Facebook

One in Five and the Fear of Facebook

This is the newest work from Cuban designer and artist Erik Ravelo, the man behind a lot or remarkable social campaigns like Los Intocables and #tooyoungtodrink.

It is personal work about rape and the fact that one in five women has or will have to deal with it.
Does it shock you? Facebook does and don’t want Erik to advertise his work on the network.

Erik commented on Facebook:

Facebook is full of hate messages, nude, sexy photos. People having sex, war, hunger. Drones Bombing cities, terrorism, beheadings. Rape News. I mean you can find it all here. But if I want to advertise values!!! Then No.
If I want to use the same tools Industry on consumerism does!!! To share and Inspire people for a better world then NO. What kind of democracy is this? What kind of Freedom of speech is this?

This isn’t the first case about double standards on social networks and won’t be the last. It’s narrowness and fear of losing advertisers. It is fear of love, not for war.
It is absurd. The one-in-five-fact also applies to the most densely populated part of the world, better known as Facebook.

But to be honest, the refusal of Facebook also has a positive side. It is attention at no costs.
