As the world rolls back its laws on abortion rights, three women speak candidly about their termination in this short film.
From a lady with seven grandchildren to a young woman who’s unsure if she’ll ever have children, these women explain how their came to their decision to terminate and ponder what their lives would have been like if the choice had not been theirs.
Melanie Scagliarini made the film and she recently wrote about her own abortion and about making the film on Huffington Post.
“I’ve had an abortion. It was not a medical necessity, nor was it enforced by a terrible circumstance. It was a choice that I made because I was young, in my first ever job, living at home, and in no way mature enough to raise a child.
There I said it; not many women do. But, when one in three women will have an abortion in their lifetime, why are most too scared to come out of the abortion closet?”
This film is to stand up for women’s right to choose, and help break the taboo of speaking about abortion.
