
To mark the publication of a new report on the 6th anniversary of the conflict in Syria, Save the Children has commissioned a series of powerful images from photographer Nick Ballon, image-maker Alma Haser and art director Gem Fletcher.
What makes this such an interesting commission is that it’s moving away from the realms of serious, heavy documentary photography and into that of the kind of playful, experimental image-making we find on Instagram. Something that shows a new way of representing issues is possible – and one that could open the report up to a whole new audience.
