Today is the #womentodrive day. A grass-root campaign by the women and men of Saudi Arabia. Its aim is to revive the demand to lift the ban on women driving.
Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world in which women are not allowed to drive. Lifting the ban would allow women to drive to work or university and enable mothers to take their children to school.
The Speed Sisters, the first all-women motor racing team in the Middle East, support this campaign by asking their fans to take a picture holding a sign of support (including hashtags #Oct26Driving and #women2drive).
They post them on their Twitter and Facebook Page.
A likeable action from the Speed Sisters. The amount of submitted pictures isn’t big. But they get a lot of media attention.
Even more attention gets the upcoming viral hit from Hisham Fageeh. Hisham is an Arab American comedian and actor originally from Saudi Arabia. He made the video together with Alaa Wardi and Fahad Albutairi.
‘No Woman, No Drive’ was launched today is going big!
